作者介绍

丹尼尔•海德里克（Daniel R. Headrick）他是罗斯福大学社会科学和历史学荣誉教授。他著有许多著作，包括由牛津大学出版社出版的三部曲《帝国的工具：技术与19世纪欧洲的帝国主义》（The Tools of Empire: Technology and European Imperialism in the Nineteenth Century）；《进步的触角----技术与帝国主义时代的转变，1850～1940年》（The Tentacles of Progress: Technology Transfer in the Age of Imperialism）；《隐形武器：电信通讯与国际政治，1851～1945年》（The Invisible Weapon: Telecommunications and International Politics, 1851-1945）；此外，《信息时代：1700-1850年理性和革命时代的知识技术》（When Information Came of Age: Technologies of Knowledge in the Age of Reason and Revolution, 1700-1850）；《科技：一部世界史》（Technology: A World History）也是由牛津大学出版社出版的。另外还著有《人民的权力：1400年至今的科技，环境和西方帝国主义》（Power over Peoples: Technology, Environments, and Western Imperialism, 1400 to the Present.）一书。他住在康涅狄格州的纽黑文。
