小理查德·W·伯克哈特（Richard W. Burkhardt Jr.）是伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳-香槟分校的历史学荣休教授。他还著有《系统的精神：拉马克与进化生物学和行为模式：康拉德·洛伦茨、尼科·廷伯根和行为学的创立》（The Spirit of System: Lamarck and Evolutionary Biology and Patterns of Behavior: Konrad Lorenz, Niko Tinbergen, and the Founding of Ethology）。
